"Treasures of Kyiv" in Poznań. The exhibition will feature over 30 works from extraordinary collections.

This Friday, August 29th, a unique exhibition, "Treasures from Kyiv: European Art from the 15th to the 19th Century," will open in Poznań. The National Museum will receive over 30 works on loan from the Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko National Museum of Art in Kyiv – one of the most important museum institutions in Eastern Europe.
Visitors will see paintings by Italian, Dutch, Spanish, and French masters , as well as examples of decorative arts from St. Petersburg to Madrid. The exhibits will also include valuable Polish artifacts, including canvases from the collection of King Stanisław August Poniatowski: "Bacchus and Ariadne" by Louis de Boullogne and "Landscape with a Waterfall on the Right" by Jean-Baptiste Pillement.

Also noteworthy is the portrait of the king himself by Louise-Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun – one of the most famous portrait painters of the 18th century.
The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to engage with early European art, especially since the European Art Gallery at the Poznań Museum is currently closed for renovation . The program also includes accompanying events, including museum lectures, guided tours, and meetings with curators.
